Mara Katherina Liao Esnard

Rooted in Cuba, Mara is a dance educator, dancer, and choreographer. She graduated from the National Ballet School in Havana, Cuba. Through her time in YYC she has participated in a diversity of festivals, performances, and collaborative works. Her passion and curiosity for jazz dance and music led her to immerse herself into DJD's Training Program for two seasons. This is Mara’s fourth season with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks Company. Mara continues to dig deeper into her mixed-race identities (Asian, African and Hispanic) and discover how all these different backgrounds influence her artistry.
