Samantha Sutherland is a contemporary dance artist, choreographer, and teacher based in Tkaronto. Her ancestry is Ktunaxa and Scottish. She grew up on Coast Salish territory and graduated from the Arts Umbrella Dance Diploma Program in 2018.

Samantha began choreographing dance solo works in 2021 and has presented in festivals and with presenters across Turtle Island.  Some include the Matriarchs Uprising Festival, Sharing the Stage with The National Ballet of Canada, Dance Made in Canada, SummerWorks, Tangente, and Weesageechak Begins to Dance.

She has performed in dance works by Raven Spirit Dance, Santee Smith, Olivia C. Davies, Alejandro Ronceria, and Jera Wolfe. She is currently an Artistic Associate with O.Dela Arts.

Laura is a native Calgarian who enjoyed a 15-season professional career. She spent eight seasons with Alberta Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet, performing a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire. She later joined Cas Public, touring internationally in ensemble-based contemporary works. She has also appeared as a guest artist with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in classical productions such as Giselle, Don Quixote, and The Sleeping Beauty.

Laura is certified in STOTT Pilates (Mat) and Progressing Ballet Technique and enjoys teaching barre and Reformer Pilates. She remains committed to exploring movement that supports a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.

Originally from Virginia, John moved to Canada in 2011 to attend Canada's National Ballet School in Toronto. Upon graduating in 2014, he joined the Alberta Ballet where he danced for five seasons, working directly with choreographers Aszure Barton, Jean Grand Maitre, Anne Plamondon, Yukhichi Hattori, and Wen Wei Wang, among others. In 2020, John joined Cas Public as a dancer, performing the work of Hélène Blackburn for one season.

In addition to his involvement with a number of movement research programs across Canada, John has attended Springboard Danse Montréal and the Creative Gesture at the Banff Centre for the Arts. He joined Ballets Jazz Montral in 2021 and began touring extensively in North America and throughout Europe. During this time he was fortunate to explore works by Crystal Pite, Andonis Foniadakis, Juliano Nunes as well as many others. After departing Ballets Jazz in 2024 John participated in several projects as a freelance dancer before stepping away from dancing professionally in 2025. He now enjoys teaching dance and exploring improv for fun.  

Izél Pienaar has trained extensively in Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and Lyrical, earning recognition as a versatile and expressive performer. She has attended leading programs and intensives including Arts Umbrella, Springboard Danse, Camp Protégé, Ballet Edmonton SDI, and OutInnerSpace, and represented Team Canada West at the IDO World Championships in Poland.

Since graduating, Izél has focused on contemporary creation through programs such as The Bridge Movement, Modus Operandi LINK, and Lamon, choreographing for the film Skin Within and creating the full-length work Your Face With Mine. Based in Calgary, she continues to perform, collaborate, and share her passion as a freelance artist.

Christianne approaches movement and dance making from a place of musicality, physicality, awareness, and humility. Having spent many years interpreting dance works made by James Kudelka (Citadel + Compagnie, Toronto) she has developed an affinity for fast, visceral, and large scale movement. Currently, both her choreographic and pedagogical work is underpinned by something she calls performative tools of working. Partially influenced by her time dancing for choreographers like Christopher House (Toronto Dance Theatre), Valerie Calam (Company Vice Versa) and Ame Henderson (Toronto Dance Theatre), she refers to ‘working’ as the process in which the mind and body are working to answer a series of internal questions, and respond to tasks, which become visible to the outside through various degrees of change in the body and awareness for the performance space. Christianne holds a BFA from Ryerson University and an MA from York University. She was a company member with Toronto Dance Theatre from 2014-2020, and with Citadel + Compagnie (Toronto) from 2006-2014, and 2017-2020. Independently, her work has been presented in Beijing, Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary. Christianne is a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary, teaching technique, composition, and performance. Outside of the university, she has worked as the rehearsal assistant for Project InTandem (Calgary), and also frequently teaches for YYC Contemporary (Meghann Michalsky).
