Ballet Bodies YYC is seeking 29 dancers to join the cast of In Motion V 2027, which will feature five original contemporary & ballet works choreographed by Alexis Fletcher, Cinzia Eremita, Heidi Schmidtke, Mara Liao Esnard and Will Jessup.

In-person and Video Auditions are available.
In-person auditions are limited to 25 dancers. First come- first serve.
Deadline to sign up for in-person and video auditions -> Dec 12th and noon
Dancers will have to sign up for each choreographer separately.
Dancers can audition for multiple choreographers but can only be cast for one piece.

Piece Description: As a classically trained dancer from Brazil, I am interested in exploring my Brazilian roots and cultural heritage through contemporary ballet.
Piece length: 7-8 minutes
Casting: 8 dancers
Dance Level: Intermediate/ Non- professional

Dancer honorarium: $200.

Piece Description: This piece will be about the process of learning to embrace the parts of yourself that have made you feel unworthy or unlovable. Acknowledging the pain of certain experiences and choosing to feel it, rather than avoid it.
Piece length: 9-11 minutes
Casting: 4 dancers
Dance Level: Advanced/Professional
Approximate total rehearsal hours: 35 + tech rehearsals
Dancer remmunaration: $30 per hour + $100 per performance.

Piece Description: The work will integrate solos, duets and partnered sections, and group moments, weaving these elements together with an underlying sense of connection. The final structure and thematic direction will be shaped through the creative process, with the whole concept evolving organically as the piece develops.

Piece Description: This piece explores the external dimensions of "fitting in" and the dynamic interplay between confidence and vulnerability. I am also considering incorporating pointe work for a portion of the choreography, depending on the dancer’s interest and comfort level.

Description: Erin is looking for dancers with clarity of movement, openness to collaboration, fast-twitch explosivity, and a sense of play and abandon. Open to various training backgrounds but an understanding of line, texture, and grounding is important.
Piece length: 9-10 minutes
Casting: 7 dancers
Dance Level: Pre-Professional
Approximate total rehearsal hours: 32 + tech rehearsals
Dancer remmunaration: $28 per hour + $100 per performance.
