Ana Leimann
Ana Leimann has been developing her career as a classical dance teacher for professional training and amateur dancers since 2006. In her professional career, she has worked and continues to work intensely on pedagogical development combined with the artistic and creative choreographic process.
As a student at the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil, Ana danced classical and character dance compositions on national and international tours. She has performed professionally as a dancer with the Young Ballet of Santa Catarina in Brazil.
As a choreographer, Ana has created numerous works for the dance schools she has worked with in Brazil, Germany and Canada. She has worked as a choreographic assistant for productions by the Palucca University of Dance Dresden and productions associated with the Dresden Semperoper in Germany. Ana has also developed a significant Dance Theater show, awarded and subsidized by the FUNARTE Klauss Vianna Dance Prize 2013 in Brazil.

Aliya Ayorinde
(She/Her)
Aliya (she/her) is a multidisciplinary dance artist currently based in Mohkinstis. With over 20 years of experience in Ballet, Aliya’s artistic practice has since expanded to include Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary, as well as several street styles. Aliya deliberately engages with a variety of dance genres as a way to embody the richness of the black experience, as she seeks to connect her empirical artistic practice to her research. She has trained with industry professionals in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and across Turtle Island, and she is excited to dance in InMotion IV this year.
Ainsley Louie-Suntjens
(She/Her)
Ainsley Louie-Suntjens (she/her) is a dance artist, writer and multidisciplinary creator. She has been dancing in and around Mohkinstsis for over 18 years, and has the great pleasure of dancing with local companies Ballet Bodies YYC and BARE Dance Collective, and in independent projects with University of Calgary School of Creative and Performing Arts and IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists. She also recently graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in English and History with distinction. She is honoured and humbled to perform as a part of In Motion IV!
Candice Beermann
(She/Her)
Candice Beermann has trained in ballet since the age of 3 and continues to pursue her passion through regular classes and performances. She recently performed in Cinzia Eremita’s piece in Ballet Bodies in Motion II (Nov 2023). Candice has completed the Royal Academy of Dance exams from Primary to Grade 8 and continues to take exams at the vocational level as an adult. Outside the studio, she is a proud mother and works as the Academic Principal of the Professional Division at Alberta Ballet School, where she supports the next generation of dancers..
Emily Wakaruk
(She/Her)
Emily is a dancer born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance at the University of Calgary, where she continues to deepen her passion for movement and performance. With extensive training in both ballet and contemporary dance, she is committed to exploring new opportunities to grow as an independent artist. Dedicated to sharing her love of dance with the community, she is grateful to be part of this production and to contribute to Calgary’s vibrant arts scene.
Milena Tomol
(She/Her)
Milena Tomol's ballet journey began in Russia, culminating in a decade of dedicated adult training. She now calls Ballet Bodies her artistic home, entering her fifth season with the collective. Milena embraces diverse dance experiences and styles, dipping her toes (and hips) in West African, Afro-Caribbean, Ukrainian, Bollywood, Latin and belly dance, imprinting each style on her dance journey. While ballet remains her heartbeat, she also enjoys igniting the dance floor with vibrant Latin moves performing with Mambo Productions’ bachata team. She has showcased her talents at Dance Montage, Unganisha, Dance of Thrones, One World Goes Bollywood and Calgary Salsa Congress. Beyond dance, Milena finds solace in gardening, hiking, and crafting delightfully complicated Excel spreadsheets.
Valeria Monroy
(She/Her)
Classically trained in the Royal Academy of Dance method and certified in Flexibility & Acro teaching, I have performed with local companies in Mexico in works such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, and ballet-lyrical fusions. My artistry has been enriched through masterclasses with Mayuko Nihei, Isaac Hernández, Helen McLennan, Sandra Bárcenas, Héctor Hernández, César Brodermann, among others. I also enjoy exploring styles like Latin, Heels, and Exotic Pole Dance. Movement keeps me inspired, allowing me to lose myself in dance and feel my soul light up when I share it.
Aidan Moody
(He/Him)
Born and raised in Calgary, Aidan is an independent dance artist currently in his second year of studies at the University of Calgary as a Dance Major. Aidan has trained in a variety of dance styles ranging from Contemporary to Caribbean and Ballet to Hip Hop, including street styles like Waacking & Vogueing. He is eager to explore new dance techniques & their origins to further his knowledge within his practice. Over the past 2 years Aidan was a dancer and competitor with Illfx Education and was awarded with multiple awards in both group and solo categories.
Mary Bello
(She/Her)
Mary has been dancing since the age of three, with ballet as her foundation and a love for exploring modern, jazz, theater, latin, afro, and contemporary styles. She grew up training at the Stapleton School of Performing Arts in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Canada, where she completed dual B.A. degrees in Dance and Communication/Media Studies at the University of Calgary. Mary’s training has been shaped by Balanchine, Cecchetti, Bournonville, Limón, and Graham techniques. She is thrilled to return to the stage with Ballet Bodies in Motion and is grateful for the opportunity to share her passion for dance with the community.
Eila De Almeida
(She/Her)
Eila De Almeida is a Calgary-based dancer with training in Graham, Horton, Soca, Heels, Tap, and traditional African and Caribbean styles. She has performed at Carifest, Pulse Show Showcase, Ethnic Fest, the Calgary Stampede, and as a backup dancer for artists like Cartel Madras and Rotimi. Eila has trained with Deann Weekes and Siggy Cortez as part of the D Rhythm Soul Dance Experience performance group, UniverseSoul Dance Studio, and Woezo Africa, building versatility across cultural and contemporary forms. Passionate about storytelling through movement, she explores dance as a celebration of heritage, expression, and connection.
