Kale Lazarick
Kale is a born-and-raised Calgarian whose dance journey began at the age of nine, training in jazz, musical theatre, and ballet. In 2012, he joined Alberta Ballet School, where he began his formal ballet training and continued to develop as a dancer.
During his time at Alberta Ballet School, Kale participated in a four-week summer intensive exchange program at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto in 2016, followed by a four-week training program at The Royal Ballet School in London, England, in 2017.
After graduating from Alberta Ballet School in 2018, Kale moved to Stockholm, Sweden, to continue his professional training abroad for two years. While in Europe, he auditioned for professional ballet and contemporary companies across the continent. Highlights from this time include performing with the Royal Swedish Ballet in The Nutcracker, dancing a lead role in George Balanchine’s Serenade, receiving a scholarship to Palucca University of Dance in Dresden, Germany, and completing practicums with the Norwegian National Ballet and Estonian National Ballet.
In 2021, Kale joined Alberta Ballet as an apprentice. His favourite repertoire included Phi by Jean Grand-Maître, Boteroby Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Skyward by Alysa Pires, The Nutcracker by Edmund Stripe, and Cinderella by Christopher Anderson.
Kale left Alberta Ballet in 2023 and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture while teaching part-time at Alberta Ballet School.
