Yaroslav Khudych
Yaroslav is originally from Lviv, Ukraine. Upon arriving in Canada, he completed his training at Alberta Ballet School under the guidance of Murray Kilgour, Ashley McNeil, and Aram Manukyan. After completing the trainee program, Yaroslav was offered an apprentice contract with Alberta Ballet Company, where he most recently danced as a Senior Corps de Ballet dancer.
He has performed many roles with Alberta Ballet, including Christian Spuck's Le Grand Pas de Deux, Father in Lauchlan Prior's Hansel & Gretel, Francesco Ventriglia's Bolero, and Sugar-Plum Cavalier in Edmund Stripe's The Nutcracker. Some of his other favourite roles include Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Quasimodo in Notre-Dame de Paris, and Rothbart in Swan Lake.
Yaroslav also teaches part-time at Alberta Ballet School, and strongly believes in empowering the younger generation to pursue their dreams and dance! Outside of ballet, Yaroslav enjoys dancing country swing at the local honky-tonk. He is passionate about rock climbing and loves spending time outdoors.
